If you are experiencing
problems with Salon Iris, it is recommended that you follow the steps below.
If the problem is getting Salon Iris to start for the first time or creating a
new database, skip to step 4.
1) Backup Your Database If you can start Salon Iris and access your database, select "Backup"
from the "File" pull-down menu. If you are unable to do this
because Salon Iris will not start or open the database, proceed to step 2.
2) Check Your Hard
Drive Run Scandisk. This will check your hard drive and attempt to
repair any errors. To run Scandisk, follow these steps:
1) Right-click on the
Start button.
2) Select "Explore."
3) In the new window that appears, right-click on the "C:" drive.
4) Select "Properties."
5) Click on the "Tools" tab.
6) Press the "Check Now" button.
7) Select the "Thorough" or "Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors"
option and press OK.
3) Check Your Database Start Salon Iris, then select "Compact and Repair" from the "File"
pull-down menu. If you are unable to do this because Salon Iris will not
start or open the database, proceed to step 4.
If the above steps do not correct the problem, then...
4) Install Database
Drivers Microsoft has released Windows updates that Salon Iris uses to talk to
your database. Install each of the files listed below in the order
they are listed.

After all the installations
finish, restart the computer.
If the above steps do not correct the problem, then...
5) Repair Salon Iris Repairing Salon Iris can be done by placing the Salon Iris CD in the
computer then selecting the "Install Salon Iris" option or by
clicking here. After
the installation starts, select the "Repair" option. After the
installation finishes, restart the computer.
If the above steps do not correct the problem, then...
6) Reinstall Salon Iris Follow the steps below:
1) Click on the Start
button in Windows.
2) Open the Control Panel (on Windows 95-98, go to "Settings=>Control
Panel")
3) Click on "Add/Remove Programs."
4) Locate Salon Iris then click on the "Remove" or "Uninstall" option.
5) Reset the installation by clicking
here.
This will make Salon Iris perform a fresh reinstall in the next step.
6) Reinstall Salon Iris. This can be done by placing the Salon Iris CD
in the computer then selecting the Install option or by
clicking here.
If the above steps do not correct the problem, then...
7) Perform a Windows
Update Click on the Start button in Windows and then select "Windows Update."
On Windows XP, this option is in the "All Programs" folder.
If the above steps do not correct the problem, then...
8) Reinstall or
Upgrade Windows At this point, you have performed all available software upgrades.
The problem you are experiencing is either a hardware problem or a Windows
problem that Windows Update was not able to correct. The last option is to
format your hard drive then reinstall Windows and Salon Iris.
